Sad times
well today's training did not start of very good as some upsetting news came to our ears. Rex the German Shepard is in hospital, last night his stomach flipped causing bloat for no particular reason, his owners were very quick at recognizing that something was wrong and quickly rushed him of to the vets to have emergency surgery, he also had to have his spleen removed as there was something wrong with that as well. He made it through the night and was doing well this morning but the first 48 hours are critical. He will be out of action for quite a while and i missed the big black bear at training today, it felt very quite as there was not dog on guard barking at anyone or no dog to cuddle and make a fuss of. Instead i got lumbered with one of the teams jack Russel x Lhasa apso puppy as they were dog sitting it for a friend. she was so cute and her name was cookie, she was 10 months old. She loved cuddles and sitting on my tummy when i was lying down on the floor and then proceed to sit on my head as that was comfy for her apparently. we were at a lovely location today and were on top of a hill and could see for miles. The weather was mild today, not hot but then not cold, there was quite a lot of wind, so it was good searching weather. I done a couple of runs outs for jaffa and saber just to warm them up a little than spent the rest of my time watching the cars and looking after cookie and nursing my sore ankle which at the moment is killing me, but how can i rest it when i am running round being chased by puppies and having to retrieve cookie after she wanted to follow everyone who went out to search.

we were training today, it was cold and wet, but still a good day. there is also another dog at training today but i have no photos of that one yet, she is a qualified trailing dog. brown doberman and she has moved over here form america and is hoping to be assed later this year so she can be on the call out list. I was navagating for her trail today and it was very interesting, it was a long winding trail through a forest and finished at a lake. I aslo done some run outs for watson to warm him up. there is another dog that i have not mentioned yet which is conker a german long haired pointer who is in training to be a trailing dog, and i whatched him work today as this was his first trailing session. There was also a man looking for his lost dog where we were training, this has inspired me to look into dog search and rescue for barely, we have started some scent discriminating work with spices and will eventually move onto dog scent and then trails for him to follow. At the end of the day i also done some bodying for watsons search. jack, rex and edward done a mini search each, bob and watson done a full search each
